Week #88 Letter & Pictures

So last Monday we played kickball at the park and got some sun. Felt it later but then I woke up Tuesday to a burn on my forehead and arms. Arms were the worst. But now I am peeling on the forehead and arms. But it felt good to get burnt as I haven't had it in a while and it really wasn't that bad. Showers weren't really painful, just a little stingy. Moving on though.

This week was pretty average overall. Not much to exciting but we did have half a ZTM almost and Easter was great. Oh yeah, and our neighbors had a party right below us Friday night that kept us up all night until 3 am.

"Wait, Walter quit the Muppets? Didn't we just make a movie where he joined the Muppets?" Preparation day and boy was it a nice one. We had a district activity today at the park/beach and everyone brought something to eat and then we went to the beach and walked around for a bit, built some sand castles and then went to the park and played kickball for a bit. we ended around 3 as everyone was exhausted and so we went to email for a bit and then we had correlation at Costco and Brother Fackrell, the ward mission leader bought us dinner. He is awesome. Then we went and looked up a few of our investigators and got to set up appointments with a few for this week and also with a less active. Pretty good night and an awesome day.

"Is that goal regulation size or what?" Well today was a normal day. We had district meeting after studies but had a rude awakening when we woke up to another mouse caught in our trap. We didn't even know about him while the one we caught last week we knew about. So who knows how manly more there are. But district meeting was good and then we had lunch. Went to the church and taught Margaret via Facebook messenger and that worked really well. Tried to teach Kenny but ended up he wasn't home and tried to call but no answer. So we sent the stuff for our next lesson with Margaret through the messenger chat. Had dinner and then went and looked up a member that is less active a little bit away so it took a bit to drive there but he wasn't home so we knocked around till the end of the night.

"We got no food, we got no jobs, our pet's heads are falling off!" Today was meeting day. And the meeting was Zone Training Meeting. First one that I've had on a Wednesday. But we taught a new investigator named Banjo that was in the areabook and we've tried to contact for a while and finally got to meet with him. Turns out he had been attending our church in Harlem for weeks now and knows a lot. He wants to come to this location now since it is so much closer and so we taught the restoration and he knew a little bit of it. Super nice guy and we are definitely going to get him on baptismal date soon. Just didn't do it today. Had the meeting and got Grand Fortune Chinese food afterwards. Then headed home and did some online work of sending prepare to learns and spiritual messages to our investigators. Ended with looking Kenny up and scheduling a lesson for Saturday afternoon. That ended our night.

"It's Saturday night and we in the spot, don't believe me? Just watch!" Today was an interesting one. Started off with some service for one of our members, well, almost service. Got there and found out from her family members that she was in the hospital all day yesterday as she broke her foot so they said not today. But then as we were about to leave, they came out and said never mind and she wanted to talk to us. So we went in and she wanted to continue but she would be in bed but after a half hour of talking, she realized she had none of the supplies we needed so she decided not today. Took an hour in total to come to that but who's counting. So we ate lunch and got changed. Taught Margaret via Facebook chat for a longer time. Took a bit to start and then we chatted for over an hour. So we ate dinner and did some look ups. Ran into a member that we have never seen before and found his address in the member list and are planning on visiting in a few days. Super interesting and then we stopped by a store to pick up some supplies to clean tomorrow.

"I got you homie." So today was more of a relaxing day as we had deep clean in the morning till the afternoon and then weekly planning the rest of the afternoon until dinner. Then we just walked around and talked to people around our home during the night and ended with visiting Howard. He is always fun guy and today he said is going to give us these art books signed by the author who is a world famous ships and sea painter next time we visit. Howard is so cool. Then we got to talk about Easter with him.

"Hello Jerry."
"Hello Newman."
Today was a productive day. We had an early lesson with Banjo and we taught the first half of the plan of salvation and invited him to be baptized on May 13. He accepted so we got 2 on date now! Then we had lunch and taught Margaret with a bishopric member as a member present. Great lesson on the some of the first commandments in the commandment section of PMG. Then we went to the church and sent off some prepare to learns to investigators and directions on how to get to the church. Went to teach Kenny but he wasn't there and so we went to our next lesson but he wasn't there either. So we knocked around for a bit till dinner at Chipotle. Went back to the church to again try to send off the directions as it didn't work for some reason earlier but it worked this time. Went to look up some members but had no luck making contact with them. That ended our night

"This is how we roll! We roll like this!" Happy Easter Sunday! Remember the true meaning of Easter, not just the Easter bunny. Christ rose this day from the grave having accomplished the atonement and conquered death and sin. Remember the true meaning of Easter. Today was nice as we didn't have Ward Council so we could enjoy the day off. None of our investigators came to church, not sure on why Banjo didn't come but Margaret said she would be out of town for today but will be back next week. After church we had lunch and studies. Then the Glick family invited us over for Easter dinner. President Glick is the second counselor in the stake presidency and also was an actor in one of the Bible videos the church distributed. Pretty cool to learn the background to how that happened. We spent a while there actually as they like to talk and dinner took a bit. Then we went to the church and sent off some things via Facebook messenger to our investigators and tried visiting our investigators but they were not home. So that ended our night.

Margaret is doing great. Still progressing and on track to get baptized May 6. We are super excited and now we got Banjo on date for a week later on May 13. So hopefully we will have 2 weeks in a row of baptisms. That would be sweet. Almost as sweet as 2 days in a row like the Flushing baptisms over a year ago I had with Elder Mitchell. Banjo is doing great as well but we still aren't sure why he didn't come to church yesterday. Kenny we were not able to meet with this week as he missed both appointments sadly but every time we see him he wants to meet with us and wants to come to church, he just doesn't come through when it gets to that time. So hopefully we can work something out that will work this week.

Hope everyone had a great week and enjoyed Easter. Remember to be happy and smile. See you next week!
