This is all I've seen anywhere this past week is just a whole bunch of Puerto Rican flags all over cars and houses. So if you wonder what NY is like, now you know.

Well this week was more of a boring week as nothing exciting happened overall. Took me a while to even think of what happened this week to put as the subject of this email and that's what I came up with. Account Problems. Boring. But it's true. We spent a few days on Elder Powell's email for a few min trying to figure it out for him to start backing up his stuff before next week. We got it fixed. So other than that, it's boring so hope you like reading about a boring week.

"Jarvis, sometimes you got to run before you can walk." Preparation day! And even though I have a new companion, we still do the same things. Laundry, email, lunch, email, played volleyball at the Spanish chapel for a bit and finished emailing and then ended preparation day with correlation at Costco. Then we went to the church to message a few people. Looked up a member that we were told had work off today but we get there to find he is at work. So we know he lives there but is never home when we go by. And tonight a lady answered very irritated at us and slammed the door in our face. Life of a missionary. Then made some calls and were trying to figure out what to do with some investigators when Elder Powell remembered he needed something at the store so we went and got it then went home. I found out today is the 2 year mark since I opened my mission call. How fast those 2 years have gone by!

"We used to play pretend, give each other different names. We would build a rocket ship and fly it far away. Used to dream of outer space but now they're laughing at our face saying, 'Wake up, you need to make money!" It was a good day today as we finally had lessons. Had our usual morning of studies and planning and then went to a lesson but they weren't home. So we knocked for a few min and then went to the church to sync and get our referrals info. Called and set up an appointment for next week and went to the next lesson and they were home. It was with a guy named Albert and elder Stewart and I tried to meet with him but never did. Well we met with him today and went over the restoration. Then went to the next lesson but they thought it was tomorrow so they weren't ready for us and so we went and ate dinner early at Dairy Queen. Then went to our next lesson that didn't happen either so we went to the church to send off some messages before the night and picked up a member to go with us all the way down to see Harold. That was another long lesson as he likes to talk but wasn't as bad this time. Then took the member home and we went home ourselves.

"If I got locked away and we lost it all today, tell me honestly, would you still love me the same?" Today was a crazy day. We had an original plan that we planned in the morning, then there's what actually happened. I forget what we planned on but the lesson we planned didn't happen. So normal morning and district meeting right afterwards. Then went to a lesson which didn't happen but we were looking up a potential next door when we met Milton and taught him a little bit and set up a time to come back tomorrow and meet with him and the potential. Ate lunch and went to the church to contact people and dropped a few today. Trying to clean out areabook. Then we started backing up our iPads as we are getting new phones next week. Went to a few potential lessons but none of them went through and did lookups as it was Lockman Ave. then we decided to knock on the other side of project buildings nearby and started that street and taught a few people and got 2 new investigators out of it! Went to another potential lesson but not home and then contacted a referral and he was heading to our church right then for the family history center so we hurried over there and met him as he talked with family history consultants about what he needed. Going to meet Saturday morning now. Then headed home. We skipped dinner today.

"We will, we will, rock you!" Pretty good day overall but a little slow at times. So we will start after the morning as we all know how that goes. We went to a potential lesson but they weren't home so we went to the church and worked on backing up more stuff as Elder Powell has had some troubles with accounts and what not. Finally got that sorted out and started his backups while I finished mine and started deleting a lot of things. Did a little weekly planning and went to that potential lesson again to try again but not home. Did our new investigator look ups that missed appointments and dropped 1 as they aren't interested. Had dinner and went to another potential lesson but said to come back later so we went to do some more look ups and went back. Ended up teaching Latisha and she is really interested and genuine it seems. We set up another appointment and she said she won't be able to attend this Sunday but will try next Sunday, but she works every Sunday in Manhattan. Hopefully she can get it off. That ended our night but Milton that we met yesterday was there but busy so we didn't get to teach him.

"That's my secret cap, I'm always angry." Well today was an emotional rollercoaster. I started the day mad and stayed that way for a bit until prime time and realized it was dumb and saw the blessings from what I was mad about. So to explain, last transfer the idea came to us to split up the area to not find in the same areas other missionaries find. This was a dumb idea for Staten as everyone finds in 5% of the entire island meaning 5% is great for missionary work, the rest is not. So some companionships would have great pools while others had terrible ones. We said no last transfer and moved on well today we found out we have to do it. I was not happy as the Zone Leaders are no longer on Staten so they don't know what the work is like here. Still had to so I was mad about it. And so was the district. No one was happy about it. We were on the brink of making a map to please the leaders and not doing anything in the end because not only would it affect our finding area, we would have to give our current investigators to the other companionship working that area. But we gave it a shot today for finding during prime time and found 3 NIs within the first 4 doors. So I took that to mean this is what we should do. We are still going to try to find a way to keep investigators we already have but as far as finding, I'm ok with it. So yeah, we met right before lunch for an hour to draw lines of our little areas inside our normal area based on where we live so we get the right side of the island when we just spent the last month working on the left side. That's why I wasn't very happy about it also. Giving up half our pool to the sisters. During the afternoon we spent the time on the computer working out accounts again and finished weekly planning. Started finding planning of where to go and came up with a street to knock and it was that same street that we found 3 NIs in 45 min in 4 doors.

"Are you Jack Sparrow?"
"Um, there should be a captain in there somewhere."
Today was a slower day as we started off early going to the church for a potential lesson but he wasn't there so we went to our next lesson which also wasn't there. Found out our other investigator was at the church for family history so we went there to try to teach him but he was busy so we set up a lesson for Monday night. Went and ate lunch and went to some lessons. None of them happened but we got to look up some potentials in the area and got a return appointment with one for tomorrow. Then we did some more look ups and had dinner. Went to the church to contact James and he was too far away still to meet and hopefully he will be at church tomorrow. Then we went knocking for a bit with no success tonight and then ended at the church messaging other investigators we didn't earlier.

"Clarkson! Very funny..." Sunday and church was pretty good today. No one was at church and James wasn't there. He got a hotel overnight instead of driving for 10 hours straight overnight. But we are set to meet tomorrow night. Then after church we ate lunch and went to a lesson which wasn't there. Did some knocking and then look ups. Ate dinner and went to a lesson which didn't happen also. So we went knocking and the first part was nothing. So we went to a different street nearby and knocked for a bit and got a new investigator! We had a few potentials but the last door we knocked turned into a new investigator! Love it when that happens. Then synced areabook sat the church and tried helping the sisters with their car problems but it was too dark so we will help them tomorrow.

To recap on Investigators, James is not an investigator anymore as he is a recent convert but we just found out last night that James doesn't have the paper work as the Utah missionaries said they would take care of it... they did say they will put our mission on it so we are currently trying to figure that out but we are scheduled to meet with him and his wife, Berkley tonight! We are excited and they are getting us Chic-Fil-A for dinner:) Harold wasn't able to come to church as he has his son and grandson in town so he wanted to spend the day with them and said a few days ago he would maybe come for sacrament meeting but he didn't. Then we found 8 New Investigators this week and so hopefully they turn out to be more solid than the other New Investigators we have found in previous weeks. We have started finding in a new area so hopefully they are different. We will see.
